Software Development Engineer

The Software Development Engineer is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle for new and existing programs. The position involves daily interaction with other team members and members of other departments within the company to deliver a quality product in a timely manner.

Responsible for all or a part of below mentioned duties:

  • Designs, modifies, implements, and documents enhancements to software applications.
  • Provides estimations of work based on knowledge and experience in a given work area.
  • Writes product specifications, designs, and technical manuals.
  • Plans and implements testing strategies for different areas of our products internally and externally. Ensure interoperability with third party products, operating systems, and existing software.
  • Give technical and non-technical presentations on the impact of changes to the solution.
  • Acts as a Mentor for junior engineers, especially with .Net technology.
  • Maintains responsibility of assigned tasks by using experience and knowledge of environment to make development decisions
  • Migrate and integrate existing legacy code with current .Net technologies.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Candidate profile:

If you have strong knowledge of one or more programming languages/areas listed below we encourage you to apply for this position:

  • C, C++ and/or .Net framework 2.0+ (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET) and/or JAVA knowledge and/or Android application development experience and/or iPhone or iPad application development experience
  • Strong MS SQL, ADO.NET
  • Working knowledge proffered in XML, STL, COM/COM+, Win32 API
  • MS Visual Studio 6, 2003, 2005, 2008, TFS

Formal education level:

  • University degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.

Specific skills & proficiency level:

  • English written/spoken – B2/C1 level (CEFR)
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Object-Oriented analysis and design skills

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience developing object oriented solutions
  • 2+ years of RDBMS design/development experience with but not limited to, SQL, stored procedures, triggers, ODBC, ADO and normalization
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications for a Windows and/or Linux operating system platform and/or Unix platforms
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications using Microsoft C# and MS VC++
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft development software and tools (Visual Studio) on Windows or Unix platform or similar
  • Object-Oriented analysis and design tools experience desired

Preferred Certification and Training:

  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MSCD) certification desired
  • Training: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MSCD) or Sun Certified Java Developer certification is a plus
