POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Branch Transformation COE Consultant role focuses on activities such as evaluating, designing, constructing, integrating, unit testing, trouble-shooting and supporting software solutions based on business and operational requirements in a variety of customer-facing and internal business scenarios, associated with NCR's financial software for Interactive Services which would interface into bank switch or/and branch teller and core applications.

Candidates must work to anticipate internal and external client needs and have an overriding commitment to client satisfaction. As well, incumbents must be able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change. Travel will be required throughout the Europe. The candidate should anticipate travel requirements of between 25-50 percent of their time.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Implementation, integration, configuration and training
  • Convert requirements to functional requirements to develop software code that is accessible, usable, efficient, re-usable, cost effective, maintainable, reliable and installable
  • Designing and modeling program/code for an integrated software product or system that supports re-use, change and integration of various components
  • Constructing software, which meets requirements, promotes re-use of software components, and facilitates ease of support
  • Conducting unit tests, tracking problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional requirements
  • Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code, using knowledge of system characteristics and utilizing software based system maintenance and tracking tools
  • Perform functional analysis of requirements to determine estimates of resources (people and equipment), size of the software products, efforts, schedules and critical computer resources
  • Create high quality documentation as required like functional specifications, unit test specifications, etc., and provide input and technical content for user technical documentation and training and help materials
  • Establish acceptance criteria and quality goals
  • Provides estimates, goals, standards, constraints and dependencies as input to the SOW and the software development plan
  • Support end-to-end testing process for software under your responsibility/region: - design & development of appropriate test cases: what and how to test - document changes in software - lead analysis and resolution of software issues reported during testing Acceptance/Certification & Pilot Support
  • Preparation of software for distribution to customers or networks
  • Ensure installability through software distribution, local updates
  • Support field organization as required during lab installations, certifications, training
  • Lead analysis and resolve software issues found during customer acceptance testing Production Support
  • Create accurate estimates of own work efforts, and be accountable for same
  • Communicate with team effectively and with other internal teams, building excellent relationships
  • Be groomed to be a subject matter expert in one or more chosen fields
  • Stay current with technology, disseminating knowledge to other team members and recommending or developing best practices
  • Support/resolution of production issues and executing integration test prior to delivering to local teams

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or equivalent accreditation in computer sciences, information systems or software engineering preferably with honours
  • Minimum 6 years programming experience in developing server client applications, identifying software problems and debugging
  • fluency in English
  • Ideally experience with C++ and C#
  • Experience in VB or VB.NET is useful
  • Java (EE), JPA, Java Generics and Java AOP
  • JDK, JRE, JVM, JSP
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JUnit
  • Web Services and REST Interfaces
  • GWT (Google Web Toolkit)
  • Spring Security, Integration and Data
  • Android / Linux / Windows Operating Systems/Environments/Tools
  • Tomcat / Servlet Containers
  • SQL Scripting, SQL Server
  • Virtual Machine
  • Adobe Media Server

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Client application development experience as opposed to database application development experience is desired
  • Technical project leadership experience organizing project resources
  • Experience working with Microsoft operating system, installing and supporting hardware devices and drivers; configuring and troubleshooting network protocols and services including TCP/IP, Internet Information Services, and remote access; managing security Group Policy, Encrypting File System (EFS), NTFS permissions
  • Experience in enterprise-grade server software and related client applications for mobile, tablet and desktop deployment
  • Experience in Spring/Java technology
  • Experience developing with Microsofts.NET Framework
  • Experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio development tools
  • Event-based programming understanding and knowledge
  • Experience building and supporting 7x24 resilient or mission critical systems
  • Experience building and supporting DR environments
  • Experience in HA
  • Experience in bank switch platforms and branch/bank core applications
  • Experience in integration projects within bank environment
  • Experience creating and leading group presentations, hosting web seminars and public speaking
