About the role

Working for a foreigner who is the founder of an international IT services provider that have offices in both Australia and in Belgrade, your day to day communication will be in English. The position requires wearing different hats that include being a top class personal assistant to the CEO. The position comes with a great deal of freedom and room for creativity. The role is quite engaging and will best suit an internationally educated, awesome and dedicated person who is inspired about working and being participative in a growing business.

About you

You need to be intelligent. You need to have a high attention to detail and be open to learning and accepting new ways of working. The CEO always tends to ask questions you don’t know the answer to and you need to be ok with that. You don’t make a big deal out of things that aren’t a big deal. You don’t gossip or talk behind people’s backs. You know when to make a coffee. You like to keep things really neat and tidy. You get the job done without being followed up. You can make yourself busy without waiting for instructions? You are not looking for an opening to use Facebook and chat with your friends whilst at work. You respect the fact that you have a great opportunity and you won’t take the role for granted. You really like working with people and you are good at it. You know when it’s ok to have a relaxed chat and when it’s time to concentrate. You can anticipate the CEO’s state because of your emotional intelligence. You live by the rule that everything that is said between you and the CEO is highly confidential. Did we mention highly?

Primary duties

As a personal assistant you will be required to:

  • work closely with CEO and understand him and what he is trying to achieve
  • cooperate with other departments to ensure best results
  • always represent CEO’s best interests
  • speak to employees on behalf of CEO
  • represent CEO in public as required
  • manage personal projects of CEO
  • recognize challenges in the work environment and report to CEO accordingly
  • support CEO and create positive working atmosphere
  • assist the CEO with local administration
  • occasionally travel abroad with CEO

Skills and key requirements

  • Listening and Communication skills: You will be expected to follow instruction from CEO, and your ability to understand those instructions with little or no follow up will be appreciated. Also, you might need to relate messages or instructions to others. Good listening and communication skills ensure that the information is relayed correctly.
  • Organizational skills: Your boss will likely rely on you to keep the working day in order. Scheduling meetings, travel plans, etc. will all require a successful personal assistant to have terrific organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills: You will need high attention to detail in everything you do. Also you should be able to analyse and draw conclusions yourself. The ability to prioritise tasks and delegate when necessary might be useful too. Great planning skills and accurate reporting are a must for this position.
  • Personality: Emotional intelligence is crucial. As a person, you should be patient, calm, committed and care about wellbeing of CEO with positive and supportive attitude. Fun and happy person would be the best fit for this position.
  • Computer skills: You are required to be excellent with software. Good knowledge of Excel is very important. We also use Google Drive, Basecamp, Salesforce on a daily basis.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English is absolutely necessary, both written and spoken since entire communication will be in English.
