We are looking for a: Regional Compliance Officer to join our team in Belgrade.
Job Duties:
- Implementing internal legal and compliance procedures and coordinating compliance staff and matters across the region covering Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia (the “Region”)
- Verifying compliance with laws, rules, national and international standards in the compliance area: AML, Data Protection, Regulatory, Anti-Fraud, Conflict of Interests, other.
- Monitoring compliance legislation in the Region and reporting risks and needs to Group Compliance Officer
- Training and active counselling of APS staff in the Region to enhance understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues (AML and CFT), including policies, procedures, regulations and best practice
- Investigating, reviewing and resolving suspicious transactions
- Performing the due diligence on new clients, requesting the KYC information, documentation, reviewing and verification of received documentation
- Preparing regular legal and compliance reports
- Identifying, evaluating and ensuring compliance of the company’s data processing activities in the Region
- Maintaining records of data processing operations
- Ensuring addressing all queries from data subjects
- Responding to requests received from State Authorities or auditors
- Monitoring outsourced activities from the personal data protection policy perspective
- Monitoring and controlling obligations of employees in the compliance area, in particular AML
- Providing support to company employees regarding compliance issues
- In a limited extend, also providing legal advice and support with regard to Serbian law
- Coordinates and cooperates with other compliance staff in the Region
- Performs any other duties related to the compliance activity, assigned by the Group Compliance Officer, which are not in contradiction with the national laws in place.
Qualifications:
- University Degree - Faculty of law; Bar exam would be a plus;
- Experience at a senior legal position;
- Solid experience in compliance area, with talent to navigate non-lawyers in compliance matters;
- Ability to independently and assertively address compliance issues in a go-ahead business environment.
