UBQ AS - established in 2005 – a Norwegian company in the Telecommunication and IT market. We are organized in two departments – Engineering and Staffing. Staffing - We support operators and vendors with technical specialist and project managers.
Engineering - We are planning and implementing mobile, microwave and fibre networks. Today we are engaging 100 persons in the Nordic region - all customers are established telecom operators and vendors. Our main office is located in central Oslo, Norway. We have a daughter company in Belgrade, Serbia.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Signaling Engineer – Design/ Construction/Maintenance
Location: Norway
In coming years, it is necessary to renew large parts of the railway signaling systems in Norway, so we’ll be facing with many exciting challenges with the optimization of existing facilities and installing new systems. Rail is now working on plans to introduce the new European signaling standard system - ERTMS. You will be part of the organization that will manage and direct the engineering efforts towards implementation of this new system of standards.
We are looking for experienced Signaling Engineers with specialization in design, construction or maintenance of rail network.
As a Signaling Engineer you will have hands on delivery of technical challenges provided by a wide range of signaling related projects, and undertake or independently check complex detailed signaling design work.
Main task and responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing/construction/maintenance of infrastructure assets including signals, train stops, track circuits, train detection systems, point operation and detection systems, traction (electrical current) return arrangements, vital interlocking systems, SCADA/telemetry systems, and active level crossings
- Testing and commissioning new signaling systems
- Maintaining signaling and associated supporting systems
- Report production & scheme plan design
Skills and requirements:
- University degree in Signaling Engineering
- Several years of experience in Signaling Engineering with particular emphasis on the design/construction/maintenance of railway infrastructure
- Expert knowledge of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS)
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Initiative and leadership skills
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
