The Mission
Hyperoptic is more than just an internet service provider; it also installs its own fibre infrastructure into multi-occupancy buildings, bringing the UK’s fastest internet speeds to users. We are also deploying Wi-Fi service into residential and business venues which is the highest speed technology available to take advantage of our gigabit backhauls.
The Role
We are looking for a seasoned professional specialising in wireless solutions who will be able to evolve the design and architecture of the Wi-Fi solutions so that it will be able to scale for the future and to tailor it to individual requirements. Your mission will be to design and manage Wi-Fi network.
Responsibilities and duties will include:
- Provide 3rd line support to the NOC and Operations teams in the case of a fault escalation.
- Provide technical support to Sales and Site Design teams during site acquisition phase
- May be required to support complex planned maintenance activities
- Support build activities, develop templates, write scripts to automate recurring tasks
- Performance analysis of the network and develop strategies to improve network efficiency
- Develop high and low level design for deployment of new services and products
- Collect detailed requirements from customers
- Evaluate and suggest appropriate technology to management team
- Define roadmap for long term evolution of the Wi-Fi services
- Provide in-house training
- Engage with suppliers to develop future Wi-Fi roadmap
- Establish good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
Person specification:
Essential
- Expert in all aspects of public/community Wi-Fi design: captive portal, RADIUS, tiered bandwidth service, payment portal integration, whitelisting, user-database, venue self-administration, targeted advertisements, per venue based content filtering rules etc.
- Expert in application of radio design principles: outdoor, indoor coverage optimisation, heat maps, modelling tools.
- Network professional with significant experience in network design and deployment
- Excellent documentation & presentation skills
- 5 years of experience working for an ISP / Telecom / Hardware vendor in the Wi-Fi field
- Expert in designing network solutions and producing high level documents
- Expert in evaluation of new hardware, products and services
- Good theoretical and practical expertise in managing large scale Wi-Fi Networks
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Good knowledge on network security and best practise
Desired
- CWNA/CWDP/CWNE certification
- Any other vendor specific certification related to Wi-Fi
- Experience in network automation

The role will be based in Belgrade. The successful candidate will be a monthly salary and participation in a company incentive scheme.
