Our company is seeking a System Engineer for a full-time role in our office in Niš. This is not a remote position.
What will you work on?
You will work with a professional team of software and system engineers supporting the operations of a successful hedge fund business. Your work will include enhancing and expanding the development and support systems of a portfolio management application, as well as performing day-to-day operational tasks supporting on-premise and cloud systems.
Prospective candidates should fulfill the following requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working as a System/DevOps engineer
- University degree in computer science, telecommunications, microelectronics, or electronic engineering (or equivalent)
- Passion for understanding, learning, and evaluating new technologies
- Highly responsible, self-disciplined, motivated, creative, and a quick learner
- Ability to work well within a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
We, as a company, are interested in candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Working knowledge of building and maintaining highly available systems on Docker/Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of Amazon EC2 and Azure cloud platforms
- Experience administering and maintaining Linux environments, specifically Red Hat/CentOS; ability to achieve a working knowledge level
- Experience administering Windows Server 2022/2025, Active Directory, DNS, and Office 365
- Familiarity with virtual platforms and architectures such as VMware and Proxmox
- Network troubleshooting skills, including working with routers/switches and TCP/IP protocols (FortiGate, Cisco, Dell)
- Working knowledge of IDS, firewall appliances, and IT security
- Experience working with web servers such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, and IIS
- Experience with version control and CI tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Azure DevOps)
- Working knowledge of Ansible, Python, and Bash shell scripting
- Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, MSSQL, and MySQL
- Experience in DevOps, supporting development and production IT environments, and working with enterprise-grade equipment and procedures is a big plus.
