Accounting, Tax & Compliance Analyst, NWE

Job Summary:

The Analyst, Accounting & Compliance, will perform accounting activities for delegated entities at regional level in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulations, prepare monthly reports for management, short-term forecasts and participate in preparation budget. The analyst will promote best practices in accounting to ensure operating efficiency of internal controls in place and participate in analytical and other tasks performed at regional level.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform regular accounting activities: invoicing and posting of intercompany recharges, fixed asset posting, process invoice approvals and payments
• Perform month-end tasks: monthly accruals, prepayments release, bank reconciliation, payroll SAP posting, depreciation run, IFRS 9 provision monthly posting, IC reconciliation
• Prepare quarterly VAT reconciliation
• Short-term forecast and budget submission for delegated entities
• Preparation of monthly reports for management
• Cooperate with external audit in areas under audit scope
• Document financial and internal controls to ensure controls are in place and operating efficiencies are achieved
• Interpret IFRS and other regulatory requirements
• Promote best practices in accounting and reporting processes and exploit systems capabilities to simplify and standardize processes
• Provide education within and outside finance to ensure understanding and compliance with policies, procedures and controls
• Proactively identify potential problems, analyse information and show quality judgment in decision making

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Master’s degree in finance / Qualified accountant
• ACCA or CIMA is advantage

Work Experience:

• Strong financial background with excellent analytical skills
• Up to 5 years in Accounting/Finance or Business Analysis in an international environment.
• Experience in SAP finance and control modules and HFM are desired
• Strong capability and knowledge of Excel
• Thorough understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
