Accounts Payable Team Leader

The Accounts Payable Team Leader is accountable for team coordination, reporting, booking, controlling. She / he needs to make sure that all incoming invoices are paid according to payment terms in order to avoid delivery stops.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate tasks with Accounts Payable (AP) team members, supervise staff and resolve personnel issues
  • Provide training, allocate and review all daily work assignments, maintain employee records, evaluate performance, and assist employees with their personal and professional growth
  • Support AP team members in daily work
  • Monitor productivity and quality of departmental work to ensure highest levels were maintained
  • Manage departmental schedule, vacation and overtime to assure adequate staffing
  • Control that forwarded invoices for coding and approvals are done according to Delegation of Authority (DoA) and Code of Conduct
  • Manage escalation cases
  • Conduct route cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions for Internal Occurrence Report (IOR)
  • Correspond with internal and external customers, while maintaining positive and rewarding working relationship
  • Answer multiple inquiries from internal customers and external vendors to assist with invoice and payment issues while streamlining processes and reinforcing efficiencies
  • Act as liaison between team members, upper management and other departments
  • Maintain and up-date AP related working instructions; create and maintain AP training and procedure manuals
  • Support Head of Accounting in the month-end-closing
  • Take responsibility for accounts payable month-end-closing procedures
  • Process adhoc analysis and statistics
  • Answer questions from auditors and internal control
  • Coordinate tasks for month-end-closing
  • Handle all AP reporting to Management
  • Provide regular weekly & monthly KPIs reporting
  • Take responsibility for on-time delivery of reporting package
  • Coordinate all payment activities according to requirements of Cash management
  • Cooperate with General Ledger and other departments
  • Provide proper maintenance and adequate storage of AP documentation and files for auditing purposes

Your profile:

To fulfill this position successfully, your qualifications must include:

  • Education in Economics, Finance or similar
  • 9 years of experience in Finance / Accounting
  • 5 years of Leadership experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP would be considered as asset
  • Experience in Time management would be a plus
  • Excellent command of English (written and oral)
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Analytical personality with attention to details
  • Service-oriented person able to make decisions and to maintain a high quality level of output
