With multiple different brands, this company manufactures a variety of sports & outdoor equipment. Their main focus right now is GearTOP, a multimillion-dollar brand, offering high-quality sun and wind protection - from sun hats & masks to gloves & balaclavas. TapeGeeks, another one of their brands, sells kinesiology accessories. They have also recently launched Buckit, an e-commerce brand selling bucket hats, and they are also expanding into a line of streetwear fashion.

For the past eight years, they’ve built a fun, collaborative team consisting of 12 professionals. While all of them work remotely, the team is very close, and many of the employees have been in the company for a long time. Right now, the company is looking to hire an Advertising Manager to build & manage a marketing team. You would be working closely with the leadership team, overseeing the operations, and directing advertising staff in developing unique campaigns. If you are goal-focused and result-driven enough to obtain an advertising ROI, you might be a perfect match for the role! As the new Advertising Manager, you would:

  • Oversee advertising department operations and staff members
  • Manage the processes with a hands-on approach & solve unexpected problems, making sure that the projects run smoothly & efficiently from planning to execution
  • Work with staff to establish and meet project goals, budgets, and timelines
  • Develop advertising strategies to increase buyer interest in products or services & increase brand awareness
  • Collect and analyze data and present findings to management
  • Participate in the hiring and evaluation of employees within the advertising department
  • Conduct performance reviews for advertising staff and set quarterly KPIs
  • Provide expert advice on marketing and advertising methods for new or existing products or services
  • Develop and update SOPs
  • You’ll need to have enough understanding and knowledge to lead the projects, but also the ability to jump in and take initiative if necessary.

Managing the marketing team would include the following:

  • Facebook ads - bringing traffic to their website, and also testing with traffic directly to Amazon whether it be the storefront or listing
  • Google ads
  • Social Media Marketing (Instagram and Facebook, Tiktok, Pinterest, Youtube, LinkedIn - finding the best platforms for each business)
  • Influencer Marketing
  • Content Marketing - blogs and exploring ways to bring more traffic to these blogs
  • Email Marketing

GearTop and TapeGeeks do not have a team for Amazon PPC that you will be working closely with as well. That’s why knowledge of PPC with Amazon is essential for success in this role.

The company uses Slack and ClickUp for communication and management.

During the onboarding process, you will get to know all the company’s brands and processes, as well as the entire team. A successful candidate needs to have:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with people/project management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Amazon & Amazon PPC
  • Experience working with an Amazon Brand
  • Understanding of design and marketing principles and techniques
  • Desire to grow a team and find new innovative ways to increase brand awareness and sales
  • Ability to develop strategies based on industry trends and developments
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent management, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Decisiveness and strong problem-solving skills, especially under pressure
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships
  • Solid sales and presentation skills

Brownie points for:

  • Knowledge of/experience with Shopify
  • Experience with Klayivo
  • The company is looking for someone who can bring their expertise to the table & is willing to take initiative, providing their own ideas and direction to improve ad performance across multiple channels.
