Finbet d.o.o., Associated Company to international Fincore group, is hiring IT professionals for its Belgrade office.
To that end, Finbet is urgently seeking for:
Application Support Engineer
Key skills and characteristics:
- At least 3 years working experience in high availability production environment preferred (candidates from outside this range will be considered if they can demonstrate the necessary competencies)
- Strong Linux and/or Windows system working knowledge (administration or development experience desirable)
- Previous experience with any of the following technologies (good understanding of at least one of the items):
- Java
- C#
- Relational databases, SQL and PL/SQL
- C++
- any scripting language (including shell scripting)
- Understanding of infrastructure automation, continuous integration processes and source control systems
- Strong problem solving/analytical skills
- Desire and ability to learn and absorb new knowledge and technologies
- Ability to work independently and make decisions supported by relevant data as well as escalate appropriately
- Ability to understand complex systems, data flows and (business) processes
- Ability to interact, work well and develop relationships with other teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication (English)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging team environment
- Ability to multitask, managing multiple and sometimes competing priorities
- Able to take ownership of support issues and progress through resolution
- Demonstrated ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure
- Proactive attitude toward problems
The following will be considered a plus:
- Former application development experience with an operations focus a plus
- Experience with log analysis tools (such as Logscape, WebTrends, FastStats, Analog etc.)
- Experience with Oracle Coherence and/or Oracle Fusion
- Experience with any of the following: JBoss, Tomcat, Squid or/and Diffusion
- Experience with some of continuous integration software and/or IT automation software (such as Jenkins, Anthill, Puppet etc.)
- Experience with some of version control and code quality management systems (such as Mercurial, TFS, Perforce, Sonarsource etc.)
You are not expected to know all of these as the role will involve picking up on new skills and technologies on the way.
Responsibility:
- Provide daily troubleshooting and problem resolution across the company's IT stack
- Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts and infrastructure teams to resolve end user issues
- Document ongoing end user support issues and develop knowledge base of resolutions
- Supports the delivery process across the company's IT stack
- Assist in creation and tuning of bespoke system monitoring dashboards
- Proactive monitoring performance and tuning the full stack
- Working across multiple teams and departments to deliver world class high availability, low latency and scalable applications
