Business Controller

Belgrade

This position reports directly to the Local CΕO & Regional CFO and works within the Finance function.

It is a key role in liaising between Finance and other departments, ensuring strong analytical and organizational support to the business as well as coordination within the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

a. Accounting & Finance:

    • Lead monthly financial closing process for Group reporting purposes under IFRS,
    • Analyze business performance and related KPIs versus budget and forecasts and recommend corrective actions,
    • Participate in the preparation annual Budget Exercise & monthly Best Estimates,
    • Ensure compliance with all local statutory requirements in cooperation with the external accountant,
    • Research technical accounting issues and evaluate new accounting guidance, and
    • Achieve timely completion of deliverables to internal and external parties, which includes monthly, quarterly and annual tasks. 

b. Internal Controls:

    • Perform annual risk assessments for significant business risks in cooperation with Global GRC team,
    • Define, document and implement policies and procedures to address any control gaps identified,
    • Improve organizational efficiency by reviewing current processes selected by the management team by preparing ad hoc analyses, identifying best practices, and proposing improvements,
    • Engage with department heads to remain informed of potential procedural changes and influence the decision-making processes, and
    • Assist the CFO during internal and external audits and monitor the remediation of related audit observations. 

Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years of working experience in a similar role,
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related discipline,
  • Master’s Degree will be considered an asset,
  • Very Strong Excel skills,
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem - solving skills,
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, and
  • Fluency in professional English communication (written and oral).
