Chinese-Serbian-English Language Translator/Interpreter

We are seeking a qualified and professional Translator/Interpreter to support communication and documentation needs for the Belgrade Metro Project – TBM Section (Palilula, Belgrade):

Job Title: Translator/Interpreter (Serbian-Chinese-English)

Full-Time | On-site | Project-Based

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely interpretation (consecutive and simultaneous) between Serbian and Chinese during technical meetings, site inspections, and project coordination sessions.
• Translate technical documents, reports, correspondence, manuals, and safety procedures related to TBM operations and construction activities from Serbian to Chinese and vice versa.
• Assist Chinese and Serbian engineering and management teams in daily on-site communication and ensure smooth understanding between project stakeholders.
• Support HSE, quality, procurement, and technical teams by translating and interpreting as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project and company information.
• Ensure all translated materials maintain their original meaning, format, and tone.
• Serve as a cultural liaison to bridge potential gaps in work habits and communication styles.

Requirements:

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Serbian (spoken and written); English proficiency is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Translation, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical translation and/or interpretation, preferably in construction.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced site environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in projects.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and related technical documentation.
• Technical translation/interpretation.
