Compliance Officer
Novi Sad
The Compliance Officer is responsible for reviewing new Merchant applications with close adherence to the company’s internal underwriting guidelines and standards. You are also required to communicate with the sales organization to obtain relevant information to make prudent underwriting decisions and to assist in further development of the company as a whole. On a continuous basis you are expected to monitor the merchant portfolio and to pro-actively take action when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct due diligence reviews of new merchant applications, ensure accuracy and completeness
- Validate legal documents provided with new applications using online publications and resources provided
- Use special software to analyze the information provided in the application to analyze client
- Green light or decline client acceptance based on findings
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders (internal departments, merchants, partners, acquirers)
- Monitor current merchant portfolios for irregularities; take action where needed
- Facilitate in reporting of suspicious transactions
- Conduct due diligence reviews on Merchants website content to be in compliance with internal policy of acceptance
- Provide reports and support to upper management
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Thoroughly and succinctly document the research and analysis related to the financial activity and related entities of Merchants, for an audience that includes Management, Regulators, Internal Audit, Senior Managers and Internal Compliance)
- Determine if a potential client’s risk factors will allow the company to accept the client.
- Maintain continuous contact with Merchant in order to keep file updated
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of Underwriting and Risk Management experience in the credit card processing industry/merchant, banking industry
- The ability to effectively present information and write business reports
- The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
- Good command of written and oral English
- Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML)
- Excellent communication skills
- Integrity and professional ethics
- Teamwork skills
- Attention to detail
