The Embassy of Finland in Belgrade is looking for an Executive Chef at the residence of the Ambassador for a fixed term contract of two years from 1.3.2020 onwards, or for a term to be agreed. Applicants should have a degree from a higher culinary institute, work experience and an interest to work in an international environment with Finnish characteristics.

Work includes planning and preparation of meals and receptions, seasonal and particular menus and their costs, recruitment and direction of extra staff for larger events, upkeep of kitchen hygiene and equipment, purchase of materials, and other tasks given by the Ambassador. Work requires flexibility, creativity, initiative and good social skills.

Main requirements:

• higher culinary education and work experience
• flexibility and ability to work in an international environment
• good organizational, time management and pressure handling skills; ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• skills to direct kitchen staff
• good knowledge of English language
• driver’s license and sufficient driving experience.

The person holding the position will also serve as the second driver of the Embassy as needed. Serbian labor law is applicable. Work time is 120 hours in three weeks, normally during weekdays including evenings. Overtime will be compensated.
