The mission

Hyperoptic is more than just an internet service provider; it also installs its own fibre infrastructure into multi-occupancy buildings, bringing the UK’s fastest internet speeds to users. Your mission will be to lead, inspire and motivate the Fibre Team to deliver exceptional performance providing fibre circuits across Cities in the UK.

Experience

You will need to be a customer delivery focussed professional, preferably with relevant experience in the telecoms sector and have team leadership experience. You will need to have experience of developing relationships with and driving third party suppliers to meet the needs of our customers. Balancing priorities, escalating when necessary, having a keen eye for detail and being able to manage yourself are key attributes. Evidence of working with external / internal stakeholders to continually improve the delivery process and driving change as required.

Leading and developing the team to exceed business expectations. You will be able to demonstrate where you have used your natural curiosity to collect and investigate data in order to draw meaningful trends to contribute to a culture of continual improvement. Never satisfied, you will be tenacious in pursuit of your goals and are famous for executing flawlessly

Reporting Line

Reporting to the Plan and Build Manager will have the chance to make the role your own and help bring high speed broadband to our customers across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Manage the resourcing of the fibre delivery team, working closely with colleagues across customer service, sales, marketing, field operations, systems, and finance to drive efficiency and improve the customer experience
  • Manage all service delivery issues within agreed SLA’s and act as the escalation point as required
  • Liaise with internal stake holders and provide the customer focal point for issue resolution
  • Own the fibre delivery process and continually look for improvements working with internal / external stakeholders
  • Manage planning and delivery of our physical infrastructure
  • Drive external and internal stake holders as well continually propose improvements of delivery process
  • Be responsible for connectivity budget, challenge and reconcile supplier charges / credits
  • Produce accurate weekly reporting including KPI’s that underline the operational performance of the team
  • Provide pro-active customer updates on order progression and completion date
  • Manage orders in jeopardy through to completion, closely co-ordinating between customers and suppliers
  • Development of multi-skilled team that is best in class at Service delivery, Planning and operating to a continuous improvement ethos
  • Constantly looking to adopt to any change that business will bring in terms of products and services that Fibre Team will manage
  • Keeping up with trends in business. Engage with UK incumbent Openreach and the wider industry to drive best value and product development for Hyperoptic
  • Senior management stakeholder engagement & effective management reporting in line with business requirements
  • Develop and maintain a supportive environment based on mentoring, nurturing, learning and non-blame culture
  • Provision effective communication and development of the team (regular team brief’s, 1-1’s training, skills development)

Person specification:

  • Higher education level
  • Experience of team leadership
  • Experience of managing stakeholders
  • Comfortable with a fast moving business and managing change
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining business processes
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and agile business in an entrepreneur culture
  • Previous project support dealing with multiple projects at any one time, ideally in the telecoms industry
  • Proven experience working to deadlines and under pressure
  • Proven multitasking and prioritisation skills
  • Proven experience working unsupervised
  • Excellent telephone and written communication skills
  • Proven experience dealing with complicated database systems and accurate input
  • Interest in ISP and Internet technology
  • Experience of dealing with BT Openreach and their systems
