Financial Analyst M&A and Investments

The Financial Analyst Mergers & Acquisitions and Investments utilizes analytical and business skills to serve as key CAPEX controlling person and functionally support multiple project initiatives, liaising with the business functions, as required. In particular, this includes projects in the area of key controlling role will include capital planning, corporate planning, financial planning, forecasting and operational assessments, utilizing existing reporting tools. In addition, role may include recurring and ad-hoc projects related to strategy adjustments/alignment, post-merger integration etc. The position holder should act as an experienced controller with a holistic business understanding, naturally communicating across all functions and levels of the organization.

Your responsibilities:

  • Collect, review and validate monthly CAPEX planning submissions form all Regions (5 plus Corporate)
  • Prepare monthly CAPEX reporting and analyses for the Investment Committee
  • Participate in annual CAPEX budget process including project by project review as well as past years comparison and ratio assessment
  • Prepare together with the Regions Unit CAPEX cluster analysis and presentation for the Investment Committee
  • Maintain CAPEX related Intranet site including content, policies and templates
  • Own the SharePoint CAPEX approval tool for updates, user trouble shooting, and liaison with IT 
  • Own and maintain the CAPEX reporting tool for consistency and reliability while keep developing it to meet management requirements 
  • Support assessing CAPEX, larger OPEX and M&A, including but not limited to model reviews, input parameter alignment, project comparisons and prioritizations
  • Support strategic initiatives – including development of project approach, scope and budget, work with project sponsors and partners to prepare delivery plans, track and report progress against agreed metrics
  • Support assessing, identifying, constructing and completing financial analyses on profitability and cash enhancing opportunities and strategies, proposed changes to internal processes, new business strategies and other ad hoc requests
  • Assess, develop, validate and author reports and manuals pertaining to the assigned responsibilities
  • Work closely together with peer reports in Group Controlling and Regional Finance teams

Your profile:

To fulfill this position successfully, your qualifications must include:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance with professional qualification (CIMA or CFA)
  • Master’s degree in finance / Qualified accountant (e.g. CPA)
  • Minimum 3+ years of financial or business analysis in an international environment
  • Excellent practical experience and knowledge of systems: Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Essbase or other management information systems with strong drive to explore and exploit systems capabilities
  • Experience in SAP finance and control modules (SAP-BW experience preferred)
  • Strong financial background with excellent analytical, critical thinking and work ethic skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to see 'big picture" strategic view as well as process details
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and solve problems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and self-coordinate responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handling multiple competing tasks simultaneously to closure
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a matrix organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and professionally communicate with different hierarchy levels in the organization as well as demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other European languages would be an advantage
  • Outstanding practical knowledge of Microsoft-Office programs, especially Excel and Power Point
