Finnish Language Manager

First Beat Media’s Language and QA Department is looking for an experienced Finnish translator and writer who would be in charge of English to Finnish translation, as well as original, high quality content writing for a number of niche dating websites, which often includes localization.

The candidate should ideally be a native, but they can also have native-like language skills or an advanced knowledge of Finnish, while also demonstrating great linguistic understanding. The candidate should be highly organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment and also be detail oriented, computer savvy and a team player. The person should be a quick learner and should want to learn new skills, while also being able to adapt to changes. The job encompasses working remotely with a team of language experts from around the world, so the candidate must show proper online business communication skills.

Candidate requirements:

• Native speaker of Finnish OR native-like/advanced language knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• Comfortable working with adult content
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail, especially to all aspects of language, such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.
• Computer savvy (working knowledge of Google Docs and the like)
• Demonstrated ability to translate from English to Finnish and to create unique (local) content in FI
• Constant high-speed Internet connection and a solid PC
• Must be available online during agreed business hours
• Basic knowledge of marketing
• SEO knowledge, copywriting and sales text writing is a plus, but not a prerequisite
• Basic knowledge of HTML code is also a plus, but not a prerequisite

Candidate responsibilities:

• Updating Finnish databases to make sure all translations are up-to-date on a daily basis
• English to Finnish translation and Finnish content writing
• Quality control of Finnish websites
• Content localization
• Submitting all orders within the agreed deadline
• Keyword and market research
• Daily communication with your Supervisor
• Providing feedback and/or reports to your Supervisor as agreed
