About the role 

We are looking for a HSE Coordinator to provide effective HSE delivery to new operations, to implement and contribute to the design of HSE operational practices and to build HSE capacity within the team.

Reporting to the Regional Principal HSE, you will be responsible for: 

Regional Effectiveness, Individual and Team Collaboration, Improvement Focus and People Focus – this role is critical to enable continuous improvement in our safety performance and towards operational excellence. It is also focus on developing competent employees from an HSE leadership perspective.

Operational Delivery – this role offers advice and technical support on field operational HSE challenges in AER, seeking to implement Group leading practice in areas lacking in a mature HSE culture.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • University degree in Health, Safety or Environmental Sciences, Engineering degree or relevant fields
  • Knowledge of the in-country HSE-related regulations and legislation
  • Experience in an HSE Advisory role within mining and exploration
  • Fluency in English and local language
  • Ability to work in remote locations in the field with the project teams during field season
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday out of our District office in Belgrade, Almaty or Lusaka
  • Experience working for an international company with exposure to different HSE systems
  • Ability to work well in a team

The work environment covers the full spectrum of geographic areas and time zones. It comprises a wide variety of countries, cultures, language groups, environments and jurisdictions.  It requires operation in co-located and virtual teams, in field and city locations, supported by effective collaboration, relationships and engagement.                                                                                                   

Exploration Africa - Eurasia is operating across Africa and Eurasia to undertake the safe prospecting and technical evaluation of multiple exploration projects within the Region. Exploration activities include geological prospecting, mapping, and drilling operations; complemented with environmental characterization work. In complementing this team an opportunity exists for a HSE Coordinator based out of Belgrade, Almaty or Lusaka.
