Our client is an internationally oriented trading company in the field of building materials. As the Head of Finance, you will oversee all financial activities at the local level while closely collaborating with group headquarters. Head of Finance (m/f/d) – Serbia
Your tasks:
- Lead and manage local Finance/Accounting/Controlling, and HR department (5-7 employees)
- Act as a sparring partner to local management in all economic matters
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards
- Manage/perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and budgeting processes
- Manage liquidity, cash flow, and banking relationships
- Ensure proper payroll processing and adherence to legal requirements
- Support and drive the implementation of finance-related IT and digitalization projects
- Drive process optimization and contribute to business decision-making through data and financial analysis
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and authorities
Your profile:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Several years of relevant experience in an international business environment
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of national and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- High IT affinity and advanced Excel skills; ERP experience preferred (Microsoft Dynamics)
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Proactive, structured, and hands-on approach to execution
