Position:

Head of Sales department

Reporting to: Higher level executive

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Works with the higher executive Director and other Heads of Function to influence the creation and communication of company strategy, business priorities and targets for the Retail Teams and ensures there are systems in place to enable the store managers to receive the information in a timely manner
  • To lead and implement the Retail strategy ensuring the appropriate location and number of retail stores
  • To be responsible for managing the Retail operation of the company ensuring that the appropriate staffing resources are in place to maximize profits, providing back-up where  necessary
  • To manage the recruitment of staff with the support of the Retail Management Team and  HR function
  • To train and develop all retail staff on best practice with regard to sorting, pricing, displaying stock, maximizing revenue levels with the support of the relevant Retail Management Team member as necessary
  • To develop new shops liaising with external suppliers, contractors etc as required in line with the strategy
  • To manage staff, conducting regular performance reviews and meetings, ensuring they have the resources and necessary training to operate effectively
  • To ensure that all premises are maintained to the highest standards, liaising with the Retail Maintenance Technician as required.
  • To propose improvements
  • To create necessary reports

Experience

  • Previous work experience (3 to 5 years) experience on similar position
  • Experience in developing and managing retail activities and processes
  • Relevant product and industry knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience in international company would be an advantage

Skills

  • Fluency in English language,
  • Computer literacy - MS Office package,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Ability to think innovatively
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges

Conditions:

  • 5 days, 40 hours a week
  • Office: Belgrade
  • Business travel – Serbia and Balkan countries

Personal qualities:

  • Eager to work in a multicultural environment
  • Tactfulness and responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptability and impartial attitude and respect towards other people

Requirements:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of Retail experience
  • Sales management and leadership ability
  • Strong analytical and sales orientation
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change
