Our client is an international Hi-Bred agricultural company with the leading source in maize and sunflower seed technology, inoculants, research and development, who supply plant genetics to farmers worldwide. Due to development of our client’s business in Serbia in the area of maize and sunflower production, we are searching for a proactive, highly motivated and responsible person, for the position of:

Senior Scientific research associate

Responsibilities:

This scientific oriented position will be responsible for conducting multi location small plot trials with a large range of newly created hybrids. The job includes identification of cooperators, trial planning, physical planting and harvesting utilizing high capacity research machinery, as well as field maintenance, data recording and statistical analysis. The testing will be the primary data source for final commercial advancement of corn and sunflower products. Activities also include data management from planning to analysis, timely planting, superior plot management accurate in season data collection and timely harvest. The position also support the local product registration work, seed importation as well as collaboration between customers, BU tech teams , research managers abroad and include data quality and process improvement. 

Requirements:

Our ideal candidates would have M.Sc in agronomy, seed physiology, biology, plant breeding or related fields, minimum 2- 3 years of practical experience in small plot field testing including planting, harvesting and data management (basic statistics, operation of modern research machinery, strong knowledge in agronomy), knowledge of the local registration system and system of evaluation of seed material in bred commission of Serbia will be a strong asset. From adequate candidate we expect fluency in English, good computer (MS Office) and presentation skills with the ability to work outside on varying environmental and ergonomic condition.
