The Junior Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the bookkeeping tasks, handling day-to-day accounts payable, bank deposits, reconciliations, and maintaining records. The duties include entering transactions, confirming the accuracy of entered information, helping prepare reports as necessary, and completing any other duties as required. The person in this position would also be responsible for conducting data entry and other bookkeeping functions.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Senior Bookkeeper in handling changes to accounting books and balances accounts
- Ensuring bills and invoices are paid on time
- Maintaining bookkeeping records, copying and filing information as required
- Producing client billing statements and invoices
- Checking and verifying source documents such as invoices, receipts, computer printouts, tax returns
- Assisting in drawing up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
- Reconciling and balancing all accounts
- Maintaining a complete filing system to support financial records
- Cooperating with an external accountant
Requirements:
- Minimum one year of working experience in bookkeeping and accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related fields
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel - intermediate level
- Experience working with accounting and database software
- Familiarity with QuickBooks software will be considered as a plus
- Knowledge of English Language - intermediate level
- Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and procedures
- High degree of accuracy and attention to details, analytical skills
- Responsibility and ability to meet given deadlines
- High level of professional communication and organizational skills
