Lead EHS Engineer

The Lead EHS Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, communication, and coordination of environmental, health, and safety programs for Serbia plant. The Lead EHS Engineer is to provide technical EHS support to production and employees, develop EHS programs and objectives, deliver or coordinate safety training programs. He/she is to monitor EHS Regulations and provide technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with Serbian and EU EHS regulations, as well as JE corporate EHS policies.

Your Responsibilities

• Implementation and maintenance of programs, policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with company, client and governmental EHS requirements in Serbia 
• Establish and review internal EHS policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate and aligned with JE corporate EHS policies
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments and change existing, or develop new recommendations from these assessments
• Acts as expert within the field of EHS when called upon to address regulatory compliance issues, third party safety & liability consultants and subcontractor representative
• Develop and implement ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 and support EHS projects in Serbia
• Develop, implement, and maintain training to satisfy company EHS requirements and client expectations. Plan and execute training activities to increase EHS awareness and competency
• Carry out the investigation on accidents and near misses and accident / incident reporting 
• Drive to develop a strong and sustainable EHS culture

Your Profile

• VI or VII degree of professional qualification in the field of EHS, Safety, Environmental Engineering
• Relevant professional experience of ideally more than three years in similar positions, preferably gained in Automotive/ Manufacturing industry
• Experience in root cause investigation, EHS Management Systems and Auditing
• Proficient English language skills: spoken and written
• Advanced MS Office user
• High communication and presentation skills
• Proactive, highly organized person with good time management skills and affinity for teamwork
