Logistics Analyst

Logistics Analyst is responsible for developing more efficient operation processes through the introduction of improved procedures and deployment of improved systems. This position will have company-wide responsibilities and will be expected to develop strong working relationships with all departments.
This position will complete static cyclical and seasonal routing to minimize delivery time and transportation cost for multiple divisions. They will provide summarized reports and analysis of transportation performance for key executives throughout the company. They will use technology, systems, and equipment to improve logistics tracking, execution, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
- Investigate needs, evaluate alternatives, analyze and recommend productivity, and improve opportunities to senior management and operations.
- Develop reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Describe the flow of work and material through operational design.
- Implement productivity improvement projects and systems-related projects through project management skills.
- Be responsible for the optimal performance of the distribution systems and how they affect the operations of the Division.
- Ensure that any system problems are resolved by assigning appropriate priority and resources to the problems; determine the cause of the problem and take corrective action to prevent the problem from recurring.
- Review the appropriate reports daily and provide for swift resolution of the problems indicated by these reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, production management, mathematics, statistics, industrial distribution or any engineering discipline.
- 2-5 years of work history.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry, principles of inventory management, general accounting practices, purchasing techniques, and elements of the physical distribution system will be a plus.
- A solid understanding of applied mathematical modeling. Distribution network management will be a plus.
- Leadership experience.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
