Occupational Health & Safety and Fire Protection Manager

Belgrade

The responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the occupational health and safety (OHS) and fire protection (FP) team and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization, clients and local regulations. She/He plans, coordinates, directs, and designs all the activities of the OHS&FP team, as well as provides direction and support for OHS&FP solutions that enhance business operations toward clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationship between actual results, budgets, forecast and delegating accountability where appropriate, Profit and Loss accountability
• Go-to-market strategy definition and ownership and execution
• Product strategy and ownership, defining and delivering new products and coordination of pricing policies
• Recommend expenditure for improved OHS&FP operations
• Initiate cost saving model and controls Gross Margin Management (direct wages; overheads control; OHS&FP service profitability; ensuring that claims against the Company are prevented or minimized; monitoring control of OHS&FP costs)
• Effective management of OHS&FP staff within the department
• Effective Organization
• Set and agree objectives and performance standards with staff, including understanding of OHS&FP policies and procedures
• Monitor performance and provide feedback
• OHS&FP organizational structure is adequately staffed through effective recruitment
• Optimize resources to meet OHS&FP operational needs. Comply with OHS&FP operational and administrative procedures within defined guidelines
• Customer retention and customer service levels
• Review and deploy resources, and thereafter continuously review operations to improve profitability and customer service levels. Make changes as necessary
• Undertake regular and consistent customer visits (as and when required) and assess service of personnel
• Handling all OHS&FP customer queries and complaints
• Monitor customer service levels and implement management information KPIs
• Completion of OHS&FP reports for submission to superiors for consolidation and analysis and management by exception)
• Controlling and enforcement of all law requirements regarding OHS & FP regulations
• Ensure and monitor adherence to procedures and policies around OHS&FP
• Ensure the adherence and correct utilization of company systems and procedures
• Creates normative acts, rules and training programs
• Organizes preparation and taking the expert exams for the company’s employees and third parties
• Makes continuous contact and improves cooperation of company with the Emergency department of the Ministry of Interior and OHS department of the Ministry of Labor, makes contacts with emergency departments in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and contracting cities,
• Performs all other duties stipulated by the OHS Law and FP Law of the Republic of Serbia
• Proposing and taking preventive action in accordance with the needs of the clients

Knowledge & Experience

• University degree (in technical sciences, natural and mathematical sciences, medical sciences, organizational sciences is an advantage)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading an OHS&FP operation
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the managerial positions
• Knowledge of the business processes, management, budgeting, and business operations
• Good understanding and technical knowledge of the local regulation on Fire Protection and Health and Safety
• Possession of the licenses for Health & Safety and Fire Protection is an advantage
• Computer skills (advanced Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent knowledge of English language
• Driving license B category for at least 2 years (active driver)
