Mandatory skills:

• University or equivalent degree
• 3+ years of experience in highly transactional production environment
• Oracle database administration in RAC environment
• Oracle Enterprise Manager
• SQL performance monitoring and tuning
• Optimal normalization in database design
• Methods of moving large quantities of data between databases
• Backup and recovery techniques, RMAN
• Creating and interpreting entity-relationship diagrams
• Writing, analysing and debugging complex SQL statements
• Writing PL/SQL to a high standard
• Underlying Operating System core skills (Linux, Windows)
• Linux bash scripting
• Analytical mindset and commitment toward providing high-quality standards in work
• Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
• Good communication skills, team spirit and goal-oriented approach
• Good spoken and written English

Desirable skills:

• Experience in Oracle Exadata
• Oracle partitioning, compression
• Oracle DataGuard
• Non-Oracle DB’s experience (Postgres, Sybase, MS SQL Server)
• DB utilities in use throughout the business, e.g. Toad
