The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international organization with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. Founded in November 1980 as a work of the Society of Jesus, JRS is today found in 50 countries, providing assistance to: refugees in camps and cities, individuals displaced within their own countries, asylum seekers in cities, and to those held in detention centers. The main areas of work are in the field of education, emergency assistance, healthcare, livelihood activities and social services.
Jesuit Refugee Service South East Europe (JRS-SEE), a non-profit humanitarian association, is seeking to recruit an Pedagogue on a 6 months probationary (with the possibility of indefinite) term contract to assess the needs of refugees and migrants, and to develop actions, practices and services for the refugees and other forcibly displaced persons.

Qualifications
Applicants must:
- understand the role of faith-based organization in humanitarian work and ensure its mission and values are envisioned in all the work
- be willing to work with and for people from diverse cultures
- have a degree in Pedagogy or Special Pedagogy, or an equivalent/comparable qualification or working experience
- have the ability to work in a team
- be able to speak and write English fluently
- knowledge of Farsi, Pashto or Urdu language will be considered an asset
- have a driving license
Previous experience working with refugees, migrants and/or asylum seekers will be considered an asset.
Job description:
Position summary
The main responsibility of the Pedagogue in Serbia is the support of beneficiaries of Safe House established for most vulnerable children’s among refugees and asylum seekers. Pedagogue is executing his duties in cooperation with other relevant staff, organizing daily house life and activities. Also, she/he is responsible for organization of all educational activities.
Key responsibilities
- participate in the preparation of the annual plan and program of the institution
- cooperate with the manager, teaching staff, psychologists, social workers and volunteers
- organizing workshops, outdoors activities and cultural activities
- realization of various training and educational lectures for beneficiaries
- realization school support for beneficiaries
- keeping pedagogical record
- analysis of the results of personal development of beneficiaries
- regularly report to the Country Manager
- work closely with social worker and other staff in House
- participate to formation programmes useful for his/her responsibilities

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview and to undertake a number of tasks, before a final decision is taken. All candidates will receive the answer to their application by May 20ty 2018.
