Dundee Precious Metals is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals. DPM operates across Serbia, Bulgaria, and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.

For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Project Cost Controller Specialist position.

Role Purpose:

To provide support to the Project Management Team by monitoring project costs to proactively detect potential cost overruns and ensure correct cost allocations to budget. Minimize the deviation from the budget and ensure that the project is completed within the approved budget. 

Controls actual costs - correct allocation and accumulation, in order for capital expenditures on projects to be effective and correct, in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures.

Description of responsibilities:

  • Maintaining overall Procurement/Control Packages (CWP) register;
  • Ensure cost coding integrity and logic by checking the cost codes of CPRs prepared;
  • Check CPRs cost allocation and available budget;
  • Expedite CPRs approval process per the applicable DoA policy;
  • Develops, manages, coordinates the use and maintains the operation of project control systems and related routine activities;
  • Prepares and processes input to the cost control system for all approved commitments and cost expenditures;
  • Maintain and controls the Cost controlling system, records on file, templates and databases (cost database, CPR register, contingency log etc.);
  • Performs month-end closure of all control accounts and cost re-forecasting based on achieved progress and received trends;
  • Ensure reconciliation of monthly cost expenditures (actual costs) to the DPM Finance records/reports;
  • Perform analytical review and arithmetic checks of cost reporting documentation;
  • Ensure that all costs reported in the system have been authorized in compliance with the applicable DOA;
  • Collect, input and analyze budget data; perform actual vs. budget comparison on regular basis;
  • Consolidate data in project cost reports for Coka Rakita Project management review and approval;
  • Assist the Coka Rakita Project management in the development and ongoing delivery of accurate project cost reporting – including reporting of productivity and cost forecasting;
  • Provide assistance and advice to other members of the Project team regarding cost coding, project cost structure, payments and related procedures;
  • Prepare graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status and forecast requirements for project status reporting;
  • Secure information by ensuring that all cost control documentation is regularly filed and backed up in a timely and appropriate manner;
  • Maintain regular communication with accounting department to obtain and/or provide relevant  information;
  • Ensures that local/ project teams keep asset registers that can be evaluated in line with accounting and maintenance requirements;
  • Ensures that facilities and equipment are in good condition;
  • Ensures order and cleanliness in the operational areas.

Requirements:

  • University degree in: Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or Business Administration is a preference;
  • Three years of experience in similar position;
  • Experience in multinational teams engaged in engineering and/or construction activities;
  • Experience in industrial enterprise shall be a plus;
  • Good knowledge and skills in cost/ budget monitoring, analyzing and reporting; work schedule preparation and administration skills;
  • Basic knowledge of: procurement activities, standards and practices; negotiating and contracting professional, technical and construction services; contract administration; budget and cost control;
  • Knowledge of project finance management and accounting;
  • Good knowledge of a project’s life cycle (feasibility, viability, planning, implementation, completion);
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and laws related to capital projects and trade in the project implementation country; local and international;
  • Very good knowledge of English;
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills.
