Social Media Specialist

Social media is an ever-changing field requiring the Social Media Specialist to adapt accordingly to the needs of the client, industry, and company. You will report directly to the Social Media Manager & work collaboratively with Graphic Designers and senior leadership to ensure client success. The below list provides the general foundation of your day-to-day responsibilities, keeping in mind other duties may be assigned in our ever-changing field.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating sample messaging and client-specific content guidelines for strategy documents, shaping the “voice” of the client’s social media presence.
  • Creating unique content calendars with text and visual content that reflects the voice and goals of our clients.
  • Responding reactively and engaging proactively on behalf of clients’ social media channels during established community management hours to ensure brand voice and a high level of responsiveness.
  • Monitoring and reporting on negative feedback/online reviews.
  • Keeping the client’s social media pages active by liking posts & check-ins, stories, retweets, reacting to witty remarks, liking and responding to shares (in cases when the user praises the client’s services, food, etc).
  • Staying updated on trends and helping the team build our clients’ social media presence by observing what kind of content gets the most reactions.
  • Review peer content for grammatical errors.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Native English Speaker or Equal level (General knowledge of phrases, idioms, and even slang).
  • Understanding of digital marketing & a good eye for aesthetics.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of all Social Media platforms and how each can be maximized in different scenarios.
  • Good technical understanding with the ability to pick up new tools quickly.
  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines and think and learn quickly.
  • Excellent levels of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast moving and target driven production environment.
  • Willingness to step in and help out colleagues who are struggling.
  • Willingness to challenge current processes and identify, recommend and implement practical improvements.
  • Demonstrates winning Social Customer Service techniques & the ability to engage and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Possesses great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.
  • Able to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures or processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (marketing, communications, or related field).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Experience with and a passion for social media (i.e., Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, blogs).
