Job Description

In cooperation with partners from the US, Mangonel Ltd. seeks engineers for full-time work-from-home technical support (remote work). Experience with Java server technology is needed. The purpose of the job is technical support for global customers of a large international company, focused on the role of video in the business world (software solutions related to management, storage, transmission and display of video formats). Solutions are based on Java and Web technologies. Technical Support Engineer (Technical Support Engineer / TSE) will be working as a part of a team that supports all internal and external users, including key business customers and employees. TSE will often have to cooperate and communicate with clients as a consultant, in order to find a solution as soon as possible to complex problems and issues. On a daily basis the TSE will work with other engineers and professional colleagues. TSE is expected to be ready for a deep introduction into the internal software video platform and related technologies. This is not a "call center" or "IT helpdesk" type of position - successful candidates will independently conduct technical investigations in a dynamic work environment.

This role is focused on the technical support of software written in Java and Web technologies – a real troubleshooter is required all the way from the network layer to a Java error stack trace-a.

Work hours are from 14h-22h Central European Time (CET)

Daily functions:

  • Research issues, problem replication, root cause analysis and provide solutions to issues of enterprise customers
  • Communication with other offices within the company: Professional Services, Engineering, Managed Services and QA
  • Maintaining the history and status of reported problems in the Zendesk ticketing system
  • Contribution to the improvement of company products, documentation and processes
  • Creation of technical documentation for the internal knowledge base of the company

Minimum Requirements

  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
  • An advantage but not a requirement: diploma in the field of informatics / computer science (PMF, ETF, FON, RAF…)
  • 2-5 years of working with clients in the IT sector (eg. Professional services / consulting, presales, technical support), preferably with a large business customers

Pluses:

  • Experience with Java EE applications (Tomcat, JBoss, ...)
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases

Type of employment:

  • Permanent employment
