Senior Mechanical Engineer

DPM Metals Inc. is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals properties. DPM operates across Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.

For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Senior Mechanical Engineer position.

Role Purpose:

To provide mechanical and piping engineering support throughout the study, planning, execution, commissioning, and handover phases of projects, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery in compliance with applicable standards, Company procedures, Environment, Health and Safety requirements, and Serbian Mining Law.

Description of responsibilities:

• Coordinates and manages mechanical and piping engineering activities, including consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders, to support effective project delivery;
• Oversees engineering design development, technical documentation, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and project resources, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, legislation, and Company procedures;
• Supports project execution through interdisciplinary coordination, contractor and supplier management, tendering, procurement support, and resolution of technical and commercial matters;
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement, optimization, cost reduction, and schedule efficiency, and prepares design variations and corrective actions where required;
• Supports construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities, including operational readiness, training documentation, and ensuring plant and equipment are delivered in suitable operating condition;
• Maintains strong focus on health, safety, environmental, and operational compliance by promoting safe work practices, supporting investigations, delivering safety instructions, and ensuring that all activities are performed responsibly and in accordance with project requirements;

Requirements:

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline;
• Relevant experience in mechanical and piping engineering, preferably within industrial, mining, or capital project environments;
• Good knowledge of mechanical and piping design, technical documentation, equipment, and installation/construction practices;
• Experience in project execution across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases is an advantage;
• Ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams;
• Good understanding of applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance;
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills;
• Good command of English, both written and spoken;
