Tailings Facility Engineer

DPM Metals Inc. is a Canadian-based, international mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining, and processing of precious metals properties. DPM operates across Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Ecuador with headquarters in Toronto, Canada.

For the needs of our “Čoka Rakita” Project department in the in the territory of the municipality of Žagubica, we are currently looking to recruit a candidate for the Tailings Facility Engineer position.

Role Purpose:

To provide technical leadership and engineering oversight for the safe operation, monitoring, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of tailings storage facilities, ensuring their integrity and performance in accordance with Serbian legislation, Company standards, Environment, Health and Safety requirements, and international best practices.

Description of responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the technical integrity and safety of tailings storage facilitiy;
• Providing leadership of the study work on the Tailings Management Facility (TMF);
• Oversight of operation, monitoring, inspections, and maintenance;
• Coordination with design engineers, geotechnical specialists, and site teams;
• Review and approval of operating procedures, monitoring plans, and reports;
• Compliance with Serbian mining and environmental regulations;
• Implementation of international standards (e.g. GISTM,) ;
• Support during planning/design, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting;

Requirements:

• University degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or other relevant technical discipline;
• Valid professional license and membership in the Serbian Chamber of Engineers (IKS);
• Experience with tailings storage facilities, earthworks, or mining/process waste management;
• Good understanding of geotechnical, geological, and hydrogeological aspects;
• Ability to work independently and take technical responsibility for a regulated facility;
• Good command of English, both written and spoken;

Advantage:

• Experience with international mining projects;
• Familiarity with the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM);
• Experience in Serbia or the Western Balkans;
