Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for timely, accurate, and fully compliant U.S. federal, state, and local tax reporting. This role manages direct and indirect tax filings, supports tax audits, and partners cross-functionally to ensure transactions are treated correctly under U.S. tax law. The ideal candidate is fluent in U.S. tax regulations, communicates confidently in English at B2 level or above, and excels in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local income, franchise, and indirect tax returns.
- Calculate and remit estimated tax payments; file extensions as needed.
- Maintain tax calendars and ensure on-time submission of all filings.
Tax Accounting & Provisioning
- Support quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision processes, including deferred tax calculations and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with external advisors on complex tax matters to ensure proper reporting.
- Document tax positions in accordance with GAAP and IRS requirements.
Audit Support & Risk Management
- Serve as primary liaison during tax audits, supplying data and explanations to authorities.
- Maintain organized work-papers and supporting documents for all tax filings.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities, recommending mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Streamline tax data collection and filing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and international teams on correct tax treatment of transactions and intercompany charges.
- Stay current on U.S. tax law changes and advise Finance leadership on impacts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Language: English proficiency B2 or better (verbal and written) required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MST preferred)
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on U.S. tax compliance and reporting in public accounting or a corporate tax department
Technical Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax law
- Proficiency with tax software/tools
- Strong grasp of ASC 740 and general tax accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
Soft Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear, concise communication with both tax and non-tax stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
