For one of our clients, an international real estate development company that owns and operates multiple hospitality properties, we are currently seeking an additional team member for the following position: Hospitality Financial Analyst.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The role involves reviewing and analyzing financial statements, business plans, budgets, and cash flow to support informed decision-making. It includes conducting strategic and ad-hoc analyses of diverse data sources, performing feasibility studies, and preparing detailed market and competitor research within the hospitality sector. The position requires preparing short- and long-term business plans, assessing risks, evaluating investments, and delivering timely reports to all management levels. The role also contributes to key financial reports, underwriting, and financial modelling to ensure alignment with business goals and market conditions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and analyse financial statements, annual business plans, budgets, cash flow, and other related functions
- Perform ad-hoc, strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources
- Conduct feasibility studies based on detailed knowledge of the hospitality market in the area, research, collect market data, and prepare detailed project analyses of key competitors
- Prepare short-term and long-term business plans, make forecasts, assess risks, and predict outcomes
- Prepare and present results of analysis in a timely manner and report their relative impacts to all levels of management
- Review assumptions and financial components of each hospitality project
- Evaluate investments accurately and efficiently, in accordance with required quality and deadlines
- Ensure business data and analysis requirements are met by properly applying data concepts
- Conduct market research, feasibility studies, highest and best use studies, and valuation for all categories of hotels
- Conduct market comparable sales research and analysis
- Contribute to key financial reports for senior management
- Conduct various relevant hotel industry research, financial analysis, underwriting, and modelling
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analyst roles
- Previous experience in one of the Big Four will be considered an advantage
- Previous work experience in hospitality industry will be considered as an advantage
- Experience in cash flow analyses, balance analyses, feasibility studies, budgeting
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Effective analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- A thinker and a doer – effective at driving towards the vision set by the business and execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with reporting/dashboarding packages
- Fluency in English language is mandatory
