We are looking for:

Purchasing specialist for Direct Material (m/f/d) responsible for the order, inventory and supplier management.

Tasks

Order management / Disposition

• Creating purchase requisition
• Obtaining and analyzing offers, specifying technical, logistical, and economic conditions and selecting suppliers.
• Supplier allocation according to specifications
• Implementation of purchase requisitions in purchase orders
• Overseeing overall supplier management to ensure on-time delivery (identifying and monitoring open orders, initiating corrective actions if necessary, adjusting dates in SAP if necessary) as well as cost, quality and delivery reliability specifications
• Ensuring early escalation and harmonization regarding products/services that are critical in terms of security, identifying measures to secure the supply of products/services and ensuring that these measures are implemented
• Setting disposition parameters (trigger point and replacement quantities) for controlled consumption material. • Material planning for new parts

Inventory management

• Reduction and optimization of inventory in accordance with MTU optimal control of deliveries received from suppliers using SAP planning parameters
• Taking responsibility for storage at the supplier

Supplier management:

• Processing and evaluating cost estimates from suppliers and handling complaints and warranty claims
• Identification of supplier performance in accordance with contractual terms, implementation of measures to improve supplier performance
• Taking responsibility for preparing and organizing supplier meetings, workshops and visits, partly in a foreign language.
• Making improvements in terms of delivery times and costs in difficult situations.
• Participation in the proactive and sustainable introduction of measures to improve structures and/or processes in the supply chain.

General / interdisciplinary tasks:

• Maintaining (SAP) master data. This includes material, supplier and pricing data, as well as supplier tasks as part of assigned roles and responsibilities.
• Assist in coordinating supplier approvals in collaboration with the quality department and suppliers
• Responsible for performing tasks related to export control
• Evaluation and analysis of information. Preparation and evaluation of reports
• As needed, assist in the organization and execution of projects implemented to optimize the procurement process within the logistics and procurement business process.

Requirements

• 6.1 degree-University degree in the fields of: aerospace mechanics, business administration and engineering studies, logistics, etc.
• Technical understanding (drawings, shop processes, material flow), basic knowledge of material management
• 3 years or more of professional experience in purchasing or logistics in the engine industry or aircraft mechanic
• Experience in a shop or technical purchasing is desirable
• Good knowledge of MS Office is desirable;
• SAP skills (focus on purchasing/logistics)
• Independence and assertiveness
• Proactive working methods and decision-making skills desirable
• Ability to work in a team, Communication skills
• A combination of a practical mentality and prudence - even in stressful situations and when priorities change at short notice.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel
