Position Overview:

Senior Accountant is responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling receivables, payables, and bank statements. The role includes invoice control, preparation of tax calculations and filings (VAT, corporate income tax, and others), and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

The role implements internal controls, prepares audit documentation, and actively supports period-end closings (monthly, quarterly and at year-end). The position involves active use of ERP systems and support for digital process improvements. When applicable, follows IFRS standards and coordinates with the head office. Additionally, mentors junior staff and support their professional development.

Reporting: Reports to Chief Accountant of OCSiAl Balkan (locally).

Responsibilities (Tasks):

• Recording all financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards;
• Reconciliation of receivables, payables, and bank statements;
• Active involvement in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheets and profit & loss statements;
• Supports reporting to internal and external stakeholders (management, auditors, government institutions);
• Reviewing incoming and outgoing invoices and other relevant documentation;
• Preparing tax calculations and filings (VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory obligations);
• Monitoring compliance with tax regulations;
• Implementation of internal controls in line with accounting and financial procedures;
• Preparing documentation for internal and external audits;
• Mentoring and supervising junior colleagues (Junior Accountants and Accountants);
• Providing professional support and conducting team training;
• Actively using ERP systems in daily accounting operation;
• Participating in the improvement of digital processes;
• Preparing reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
• Posting periodic and year-end journal entries;
• Active involvement in closing books and preparing final financial reports.

Required Qualifications:

• Higher education;
• Experience in accounting in Serbian Accounting standards and IFRS at least 2 years
• Experience in working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite etc.);
• Work experience related to accounting in a manufacturing company, at least 2 years;
• MS Office proficiency;
• Fluent in Serbian, proficient in English;
• Accountant license would be treated as a plus.
