About Qoolo
Qoolo is a US-based stealth-mode health-tech startup revolutionizing how life science companies create, distribute, and manage educational and promotional medical content. Headquartered in Princeton, NJ, with growing hubs in Subotica and Novi Sad, Serbia, our 15-person team is developing an AI-powered SaaS platform for efficient, impactful communication with healthcare professionals.
Each year, the medical world produces millions of publications — yet physicians are busier than ever and face an overwhelming information burden. Our mission is to use AI and expert content structuring to help life sciences companies connect meaningfully and effectively with their audiences.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Bioinformatics Associate to join our R&D and Content Operations team in Serbia. This is an early-career opportunity suited for candidates with a background in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, computational biology, or a related field - ideally with a passion for AI-driven problem-solving.
You will play a critical role in building and scaling intelligent content workflows, including contributions to our modular, multi-agent Python pipeline. You’ll work with peer-reviewed publications, AI-powered agents, and internal tooling to help build structured, styled, and medically precise content for healthcare professionals. This role merges scientific understanding with hands-on technical development, offering the best of both worlds: applied biomedical science and cutting-edge AI engineering.
Your Responsibilities
- Research, implement, and continuously improve AI-based content workflows
- Develop modular Python components for parsing, tagging, and summarizing diverse forms of medical content
- Design and test advanced prompt strategies for clinical and scientific summarization
Collaborate with multi-agent AI systems that ingest, classify, and generate structured outputs from complex biomedical inputs
- Annotate, curate, and map biomedical literature to structured taxonomies
- Contribute to platform improvements including template design, field styling, and content QA
- Work closely with personnel from the US and Serbia
Who We’re Looking For
Required Backgrounds
- Master’s or PhD in one of the following (or similar) fields:
- Bioinformatics
- Biomedical Engineering
- Computational Biology
- Biostatistics
- Comfort reading and summarizing clinical/scientific literature
- Strong written English communication skills
- Passion for LLMs, natural language processing, and prompt engineering
- Hands-on experience or serious interest in Python scripting
- Familiarity with JSON, CSV, and modular code structures
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Prompt engineering experience (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
- Basic programming or scripting (Python, R, or related)
- Experience with scientific publishing, medical education, or health communication.
- Familiarity with Figma, Notion, Miro, or other collaborative platforms.
- Exposure to font styling, UI formatting, or PDF parsing workflows
- Background in one or more medical domains (e.g., oncology, cardiology, endocrinology) is helpful but not required.
Why Join Qoolo?
- Make an impact at the intersection of medicine, AI, and digital transformation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, developers, and strategists.
- Rapid career growth potential with mentorship from senior team members.
- Flexible hybrid setup.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to apply their informatics, life sciences, and AI interests in a fast-paced, real-world setting. You’ll be a key part of shaping how the life sciences communicate in the AI era.
