Senior Accountant 

(Belgrade - Hybrid)

Job description:

• Oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, fixed assets, accounts payable/receivable, accruals, and monthly closings, in compliance with local regulations, IFRS, and Group standards.
• Manage timely and accurate payroll processing in accordance with Labor Law and Personal Income Tax regulations.
• Prepare and submit VAT reports, statutory financial statements, corporate tax returns, and other regulatory filings, including National Bank and statistical surveys.
• Ensure and support proper documentation and recordkeeping to support internal and external audit, and tax compliance.
• Manage accounting treatment and reporting of IFRS 16 lease transactions.
• Identify internal control gaps, assess financial risks, and implement corrective measures.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records and reporting.
• Monitor and control departmental expenses to support budget compliance.
• Maintain and enforce internal accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
• Execute and refine procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and regulatory alignment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or at a Big 4 firm.
• Certified Accountant qualification is an advantage.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Navision is an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, along with Serbian accounting and tax regulations.
• Strong command of MS Office tools, with advanced Excel skills.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
