Internal Audit Manager

Being a member of a large international group, AgroInvest is a microfinance institution that supports the development of rural areas in Serbia and Montenegro since 1999 with a vision to bring life in all its  fullness to rural families. We are looking for a strong business professional for the following position:  

INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the operations as well as policies and procedures of AgroInvest Serbia and Montenegro are followed in a consistent manner along sound, prudent, and professional lines.  The Internal Audit Manager will take overall responsibilities for determining that AgroInvest internal control structure is adequate and effective.

Major responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate the internal control, accounting systems, legal compliance, and adherence to policies set by AgroInvest in order to ensure potential innovations and changes in audit approaches, plans, designs, and methodologies responsive to AgroInvest needs
• Supervise audit staff ensuring that Audit Department operates in an efficient and professional manner with utmost integrity
• Ensure the implementation of staff development plan and performance appraisal on an annual basis
• Prepare annual audit plan and activities for the Audit Department  according to main strategic targets and ensure the implementation of the action plan by monitoring and follow-up mechanisms
• Lead and conduct branch and head office audits following general audit procedures and other applicable standards as necessary
• Perform specific examination of accounts/areas as assigned by the Audit & Risk Committee or requested by AgroInvest CEO including fraud detection/investigation when needed and appropriate
• Follow up and push the implementation of audit corrective actions
• Coordinate with external auditors, governmental and other private entities in the scope of audit
• Build and maintain long-lasting relationship with staff, managers and AgroInvest stakeholders

Qualifications:

• University Degree in the field of Accounting/Economics/Finance
• Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor 
• Extensive audit work experience with a reputable auditing firm, commercial bank, and micro finance institution for at least 5 years
• Strong accounting and auditing background as well as internal control structure
• Understanding of Serbian/Montenegrin legal framework including taxation and legal compliance for banking and financial institutions is preferred
• Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills required 
• Fluency in English language and strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
•  A valid passport, driving license B category and ability to travel around 70% of working time

The position is based in Belgrade with extensive travelling to Serbia and Montenegro.
