EH&S Specialist

EH&S Engineer will be a part of EH&S Department. Work in the field of Occupational Safety and Health, Fire protection, Environmental Management Systems, Emergency Management and Waste Management  in order to ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe manner in according to law and standards.

Main responsibilities are:

• Assist EH&S Coordinator in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management
• Implement, maintain standards ISO 14001 and  keeping records at a global level
• Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
• Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected
• Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment
• Assist with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
• Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Working at Heights, etc
• Monitor contractors to ensure they are compliant with minimum EH&S requirements, have a valid permit to work and training contrators with conduct rules  and EH&S rules in ZG
• Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
• Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EH&S presence and provide support to EH&S Coordinator
• Collect data, analyze data and create reports, recommendations and communications (electronic and hard copies)
• Assist with planning, developing and implementing safety training for new employee orientation and required annual programs
• Provide support to EHS team during audits (gathering and compiling necessary documentation for review by auditors)
• Keeping and updating records for Safety, Waste, Fire Protection & Emergency situations
• Announcement of the transport of waste, chemicals and annual reporting to the Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia
• Marking and setting of the signs in the field of Safety, Fire protection, Waste, Health, Emergency, Chemicals according to Law and Standards
• Organize medical examination for workers
• Daily surveliance and checks (PPE, safety and fire protection equipment, first aid cabinet, safety rules, hygiene, spilit equipment…)
• Assistance in equipping workers with personal protective equipment and issuing personal protective equipment to visitors
• Assistance in developing and maintaining software in the field of EH&S

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of EHS regulatives and standards ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001 will be advantages
• Strong, proven organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Exceptional PC skills with Microsoft office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Education and Training:

• Minimum of three years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety role
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher at the Faculty of Occupational Safety and Health
• Intermediate computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel and Word) are essential
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Experience of implementation of ISO14001 and ISO 45001 would be an advantage
• An expert exam for fire protection
• An expert exam for occupational safety and health
