Job summary:
RoutoMessaging is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer, initially as an individual contributor but with a team of local developers as they are hired. This individual and their team will share the job of creating new and innovative software systems for RoutoMessaging's family of products that span a variety of technologies and platforms. The candidate should bean expert in designing and engineering leading edge systems that are important to a high scale web services organization. You should berecognized by your peers as an innovator and mentor. You should have a track record of leading and mentoring others in the development of industry leading solutions to meet company objectives. You should be able to utilize your skills and broad experience or unique knowledge to contribute to the development of company objectives, principles and the immediate goals of the company in a creative and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures for development on existing or new software platforms.
- Can supervise the activities of others.
- Accountable for leading the design, development and implementation of highly complex systems
- Mentor developers including design recommendations and code reviews
- Hands on development across multiple languages including Python, Ruby, C#, and SQL
Requirements:
- Experience in architecting highly available and scalable multi-tiered and distributed services..
- 8+ years’ software development experience
- Strong Python design and coding skills
- Experience in Python web frameworks (IE Django, Pylons, etc)
- Experience with both relational databases and NoSQL data stores (Especially MongoDb)
- Strong understanding of AGILE and SCRUM methodologies.
- Team lead experience
- Web service experience (SOAP, REST, etc)
- Experience in Linux environments including LAMP.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills with ability to gather requirements and arrive at technical decisions.
- Experience with RabbitMQ (Or other enterprise queue systems) a huge plus
- Knowledge of Ruby and C# a huge plus
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
