SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking a mid-to-senior level SQL Server Database Administrator to take ownership of an already well-maintained database environment, further enhance its stability and performance and ensure continuity of quality.  If you bring strong expertise in database administration and optimization expertise with operational data support, while also being able to assist our team of three with database-related needs – we would ove to met you!

Key missions:

• Administer, maintain and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability and security.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, implement indexing strategies, and perform query tuning.
• Design, implement, and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Administer SQL Server Integration Services and develop and maintain SSIS packages for data integration, ETL processes, and automation tasks.
• Install, administer, and maintain Power BI Report Server and support reports development
• Planning, preparing for and implementing SQL server update and migration
• Work with development and data teams to support operational data tasks, including data maintenance, migrations, and transformations.
• Collaborate on database architecture, design decisions, and improvement planning.
• Ensure documentation of database structures, processes, and standards is accurate and up to date.
• Proactively suggest improvements to database reliability, performance, and maintainability.

What are we looking for?

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a DBA role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, performance tuning, indexing, and monitoring.
• Experience with Azure SQL database services
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python or similar).
• Solid understanding of backup, restore, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience with database development lifecycle, data modeling, and collaborating with engineering teams.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
