Advanced Purchaser will be part of Segment Purchasing team, driving & executing specific Segment Purchasing tasks.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Active support in material shortage situation, involved in Allocation and Escalation topics as Purchasing Function.
• Active involvement into Redesign  Activities, supporting the projects as Purchasing Function in finding viable alternate solutions, to ensure material coverage for critical components
• Commercial evaluation of the material – BOM for all specific products of Business Unit Connected Car Networking in Segment S3 & S4  
• Supporting cost-optimization-concepts in quote and project team for securing commercial targets during development
• Implementing and transferring Continental´s material strategy into project life as interacting contact partner of project team with Category Purchasing
• Continuous exchange and alignment of Business Unit strategy with supplier and material strategy with Category Purchasing and Central Engineering
• Defining and controlling supplier pending project mile stones and steering countermeasures with early escalation towards suppliers
• Driving actively sourcing process - responsible for all supplier quotations (Request for Quotation - RFQ) and securing competition by tailored supplier choice in alignment with sourcing team
• Securing sourcing process including mile stone tracking, Audit relevant documentation and participation and escalation in project review meeting within the segment
• Supporting actively cost reduction programs for specific products after SOP by introduction of new components and/or suppliers (re-design to cost)
