Anti-money Laundering and Prevention of Financing of Terrorism Officer

Main activities and responsibilities

• Investigate and assess alerts relating to potential money laundering risks in the business activities
• Ensure efficient identification and monitoring of activities and transactions considered suspicious including conduct of  proper investigation of money laundering alerts or transactions considered suspicious
• Ensure timely and efficient reporting of relevant transactions to the AML &FT Authority
• Ensure timely and efficient reporting on the requests of the AML &FT Authority
• Participation in preparation of reports to the managing bodies
• Stay current with money laundering and terrorist financing behaviors, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends
• Help in identifying potential weaknesses in processes
• Act as a subject matter expert to employees, providing guidance on what actions to  take in dealing with high risk accounts and other AML&FT challenges
• Handle development training for employees

Requirements:

• Min 2 years of experience in banking product and services data analysis
• Good understanding of banking products and payment services
• Good knowledge and understanding of AML& FT regulations
• Familiarity with AML issues and suspicious transaction monitoring systems
• Experience using data mining/analytical tools and KYC automated solutions as an asset
• Good analytical skills, common sense thinking
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to organize and analyze complex data sets
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel advanced level) 
• Proficiency in English
