Job Description:
· Communicating with carriers via phone and e-mail to arrange the pick-up and delivery of freight.
· Communicating with drivers via phone and email to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.
· Identifying any special needs for each load and prioritizing time-sensitive loads.
· Communicating with sales teams to deliver status updates on freight.
· Frequently updating database to reflect current locations of our customers’ products.
· Negotiating rates with carriers.
· Troubleshooting, resolving, and adjusting for any issues that affect the on-time delivery of freight.
· Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
· Exceptional organization and time management skills.
· Ability to multi-task.
· Able to learn functions of company software and technology.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proactive approach to tasks.
· Prior experience with dispatching in logistics helpful but not necessary.
