Job description:

Construction coordinator according to DGUV regulation 1.

In your new position as construction coordinator according to DGUV regulation 1, site manager/coordinator according to construction site regulations (SiGeKo). 

How you can make a difference

• Tasks and duties according to 6 DGUV Regulation 1
• Coordination of the execution of all trades and works in order to avoid possible mutual hazards
• Briefing of all work supervisors with regard to possible mutual hazards
• Drawing up the work schedule, from which, in particular, the place and time of the individual works as well as specific occupational health and safety measures result
• Initiation of coordination meetings for the creation and, if necessary, adjustment of the work flow plan
• Control of the workflow to monitor the work schedule
• Measures in the event of deviations from the plan and disruptions that lead to possible mutual hazards
• Preparation and supervision of assembly, as well as control of construction progress and quality in the trades of plant construction sites from civil engineering to commissioning
• Ensuring timely processing and initiating countermeasures if necessary
• Close cooperation with the project manager and support of the project manager in the execution of the project
• Early detection of deviations and additional work and forwarding of these to the project management/specialist department
• Technical management of assigned employees and subcontractors
• Ensuring safe, accident-free handling and, if necessary, initiating appropriate measures
• Conduct service-related customer meetings (provide feedback on completed orders, inquire about satisfaction, forward customer complaints as appropriate)
• Inspecting materials, equipment, and supplies for completeness or obtaining replacements, maintaining technical documentation within the scope of the job, and preparing mission reports, including re-measurement

Requirements for candidates:

• Job-related training and many years of experience in the construction, assembly and IBS of high-voltage switchgear, as well as in-depth experience as an electrical specialist
• Skills for professional leadership and motivation of employees as well as knowledge in the field of occupational safety (legal and company regulations), standards and rules (VDE, CE)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
• Driving license class B/3
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods of time and willingness to work throughout Germany and, if necessary, on temporary assignments abroad
• Reliability, decision-making ability, results orientation, organizational skills, good time management, quality orientation, assertiveness, as well as customer orientation and teamwork skills

RCM Engineering Energy Services offers diverse multi-disciplined solutions for energy infrastructure challenges for utility owners, independent power providers, commercial, and industrial clients. Our energy programs include Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) or Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contracts (or turnkey construction contracts) for your complex electrical infrastructure projects.

This contract flexibility clarifies the relationship between the owner and RCM Technologies for the desired professional or technical services. This offers the owner the ability to execute EPC projects within budget and on schedule minimizing construction delays due to lagging information, material or equipment. We also track progress and maintain contingency plans to stay on schedule and document project progress in terms of installed quantities.

RCM Engineering utilizes key responsibility matrices and software to track progress status and interferences between construction efforts. Use of 3D modeling, 4D scheduling, and 5D cost tracking significantly reduce scope “creep” by enhancing the ability to track progress and costs in real-time.

Our full staff of engineering professionals streamline the engineering process by performing the Quality Assurance reviews and constructability in parallel to allow for a swifter turnaround and issuance of construction work packages to the field.

In the energy service division, we build and refurbish substations and grid stabilization plants up to 400 kV in Germany. For both gas-insulated and air-insulated substation projects, our project management team is accompanied by site managers from our team from groundbreaking to commissioning. Our customers are the major transmission and distribution grid operators in Germany, but also industrial customers.
