On January 12, 2010 an earthquake hit Haiti. The earthquake has destroyed large parts of the capital of Port-au-Prince; it is estimated that more than 200.000 people lost their lives.
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. The earthquake is worse than anything Haiti has ever have experienced. The disaster triggered that “Krik ? Krak ! Haiti” is intensifying it’s work.

“Krik ? Krak ! Haiti” www.krik-krak-haiti.org is an organization which supports orphanages and street kids in Petion-Ville, a part of the Haitian capital. The work of “Krik ? Krak ! Haiti” is characterized by
- The cooperation with highly trustworthy and credible people in Europe as well as in Haiti
- Objectives that are of a sustainable nature: care about structures and sound institution building
- The conviction that aid should not only come from abroad but must start in Haiti, which is why a qualified and dedicated Haitian team has been brought together
- The acknowledgement that too many children are living in misery – even the ones who have no chance of appearing on your TV screen anytime soon – and need help urgently
The position available is an exciting
opportunity for candidates who wish to gain practical experience in a
challenging environment and for people
who want to contribute to make a difference in the development world. This is a
full-time, permanent position, and you should be willing to commit for a period
of at least 12 months to work in Haiti,
Port-au-Prince.
The job will involve:
- coordination of all activities in Haiti
- liaison with Krik? Krak! Haiti e.V. Deutschland
- direct consultancy work with the orphanages we support
The ideal candidates will have:
- an open attitude towards new ideas and attitudes
- a good command of French and preferably of English
- strong social skills and a willingness to work with the poorest of the poor
- an ability to work with an Haitian group of professional volunteers
We are offering
accommodation and a reasonable out of pocket compensation; we are not in the
