General Counsel

based in Belgrade

The Country General Counsel will be reporting hierarchically to the Country Manager and functionally to the European General Counsel.

  • As an in-house counsel his /her responsibility covers counselling in all legal matters (general business matters, contract, competition and distribution law, advertising and regulatory laws notably in the context of product communication) for Serbia + Croatia + Slovenia + supervising export to other Balkan countries and liaison with outside legal counsels.
  • Draft and negotiate all types of legal documents: internal and external to the Group, commercial, property, industrial, information systems contracts, etc.
  • Provide legal watch and optimize legal security/compliance: reporting legal documents and litigations, compulsory standards, develop new processes to secure operations
  • Liaison with outside legal counsels


The ideal profile:

  • studied law and graduated with distinction. An international master degree would be an asset
  • 6-8 years of professional experience ideally gained in the legal department of a renowned international company
  • have specialized in business law and have practical knowledge of European competition and distribution law
  • ability to work in a network organisation, have the capacity to understand a business context, have the ability to translate legal requirements in to practical business language and advice, have a strong work reactivity on daily basis, have the ability to understand, develop and implement a long term strategy
  • business level English and at least a notion of French
  • mother tongue : Serbian / fluent in Croatian and Slovenian
