Mechanical Discipline Project Leader for IDD – Input Devices and Displays (m/f)

Our Human Machine Interface (HMI) business unit makes that drivers and passengers are optimally informed and can control functions in a user friendly way. Developing solutions from instrument clusters, head-up displays and displays solutions, through to control panels, central input devices, and morphing controls, HMI makes the processing and management of information easy, intuitive and reliable.
JOB DESCRIPTION
With this role you will be part of PDC IDD (Product Development Center Input Devices and Displays) in business unit HMI and work in an international team being involved in a wide product range with different display sizes and different customers working with the latest technologies on the market.
In your day to day job you will:
- Be responsible for coordinating and controlling project activities and assure they are in line with the project plan for an international team setup
- Be responsible for planning of tasks and assigning them to project team members and establishing regular core team meetings
- Be responsible for developing and maintaining discipline project plan with cost, quality, risk analysis and timing throughout life of project
- Contribute to the acquisition of new business activities
- Be responsible for creation, check and release of technical documents (drawings, specification, etc.)
- Tracking of standardization of concepts and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Participate in establishing and managing technical relationships with all internal and external parties
- Be responsible for regular budget reviews at discipline level
- Be responsible for providing lessons learned
- Be responsible for closing all open issues from development phase
- Be responsible for solving all R&D related mechanical engineering topics during the ramp up phase for mass production
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in an engineering field (i.e. Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Plastic technologies, etc.)
- Strong leading / coordination abilities
- Technical knowledge in discipline area
- Knowledge of CAD Software like CATIA V5 2D/3D modeling
- Good MS Office skills
- Understanding of the customers and users’ needs and problems
- Capability to analyze technical problems in a structured approach
- Capability to take initiative
- Very good presentations skills (with customer, internal, etc.)
- Negotiation skills
- Fluent in English
- Experience in developing display products (TFT, OLED, backlight, touch system, die casting and plastic technologies) and project management would be a major advantage
